Profile Help

You can optionally choose an image for your business. You do this by clicking "Browse" and choosing the image found on your computer. Only standard images types (jpeg, gif, png) are supported. Once you double-click an image file, you should see it appear in-line immediately.

You are required to provide a name for your business. A description is recommended, but not required. Descriptions should give visitors to your business profile a good idea of what your business is about and advance your message.

Company Contacts Help

The company-wide section is used as a catch-all, one-stop resource for contacting your business.

To prevent unwanted emails ("spam"), the email address you provide won't be publicly displayed - it will be routed through the BuyAlaska.com website.

A physical address in Alaska is required for your business. This is one way we establish that your business qualifies to be included in our system. If you prefer not to disclose your street address, type "Undisclosed" in the first street address field. If you choose to disclose your street address, a Google™ Maps link for that address will be created automatically. Enter a valid Alaskan zip code, then choose the city associated with that zip code from the dropdown. After filling out the physical address form, you can optionally fill in your mailing address by clicking on the tab.

The individual contacts section provides two functions - one is to provide a breakdown of contact information for key individuals serving as contacts for your business. The other function is to identify which of these users can make updates to your listing. You are required to have at least one user capable of making updates. The email addresses for your users are also required, but will not be displayed (again for spam-prevention purposes).

Why We're Alaskan, Keywords & Notes Help

You can use the "Why we are Alaskan" form field to make a statement that establishes your position in the local Alaskan economy. For example, you could describe the local vendors you work with, the number of local people you employ, or the local customers you provide for. Anything is possible here, but this is your way of letting buyers know how much doing business with you will reinforce the local economy. Make it count!

Keywords are used as an extra means to get your business to turn up in search results. Try to put yourself in the mind of the buyer searching for your business.

Additional notes can be used to cover anything else you think might be relevant to anyone browsing your listing.
